Anti-Wrinkle Treatments
Botox is a naturally occurring protein and can be used as a safe and effective treatment for ageing skin. Anti-wrinkle injections have revolutionised the cosmetic industry and in Ireland alone it is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures performed here today. It is designed to relax various muscles that cause wrinkles to appear on your face. Anti-wrinkles are both safe and effective and are unmatched for the treatment of upper face wrinkles such as frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines. Results can be seen 3-14 days after treatment and can last anywhere from 3-6 months
Anti-wrinkles are administered using a very fine needle to inject specific prescription amounts into the muscle. There is minimal pain and is generally tolerated with no anesthetic. These are administered by our highly experienced doctor.
Here in the Republic of Ireland only a qualified registered medical doctor can prescribe and administer Anti-wrinkles.
At Facetime aesthetic we use Botox made by Allergan. This is the product leader in its field and has been FDA approved for over 20 yrs within the medical field.
Checklist before Anti-Wrinkles.
- Do be honest about your medical history. In particular any previous facial surgery as this may alter the anatomy under the skin.
- Do let me know of any medications you are taking as some may effect the way the treatment works.
- Do advise us of any current illness or long term conditions you have.

- Do let us know of any questions you need answered before procedure.
- Do not schedule treatment when you have an important event or holiday planned within 4 weeks.

Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscle, helping the facial muscles relax, preventing the formation of new lines and wrinkles and smoothing out existing ones. Line and wrinkle treatments only work on the specific muscles injected leaving the surrounding muscles to work as normal giving that Fresh not Frozen look.
Every time we smile or frown we are using underlying muscles in our face. Over time this expanding and contracting can crease the skin and wear away the collagen leading to lines and wrinkles appearing. Natural ageing, sun damage, smoking, hormonal changes, diet and environmental factors can all contribute to the breakdown of collagen and the formation of wrinkles.
Gradually over 3-6 months the results fade. Muscle action will return to normal. This is also very individual. People who are highly expressive do excessive exercising or have particular habits may notice that the results do not last as long. This will be discussed in consultation. Repeat treatment is required to achieve desired results again.
Anti-Wrinkles work by specifically treating the muscles that causes the wrinkle not the surrounding muscles. Only appropriate prescription amount is injected here by an experienced doctor. So when you laugh or frown the untreated muscles work as normal so it still looks like you (only a fresher version)!
First time consultation can take 30 mins. I take a complete medical history and discuss all areas of treatment. Here any questions are answered and if you are happy to proceed on the day consent is taken.
The treatment itself is quick 10-15mins. Face is cleaned of any make-up. Your face is mapped and photographs taken. The doctor marks specific muscles to inject. This is injected with a small needle into the area. It takes 3-14 days to see results which can last anything from 3-6 months. The effect of subsequent injections may be apparent for longer.
There is no downtime with anti-wrinkle injection. It is important not to touch/ massage treated areas for 24-48hrs. Facial exercise is advised for first hr after procedure. I will give leaflet to each patient with all after care tips before leaving.
Prices vary from the number of areas being treated. It starts at €250 of Crows feet.
€290 for Forehead and frown lines
€350 for all the above.
Side effects may include possible headaches, pain or bruising at injection site. There is a minimal risk of ptosis (drooping eye lids). This happens in less than 1% of cases and corrects itself after a few weeks. Again, this is why it is important to visit an experienced doctor to reduce the chance of this.
Anti-Wrinkles relax the muscles stopping them from contracting therefore it prevents the formation of the wrinkles in the first place. If you start a little later in life it also slows down the formation of newer/ deeper lines.
Studies have shown that it can treat migraines, excessive sweating, muscle spasm, uncontrollable blinking. It can be used to treat over active bladders and control pain during operations. A multi-tasker!

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments Terms and Conditions
Booking must be made in advance.
Clients must be deemed medically fit and suitable for treatment, following consultation in clinic.
The price per area treated will depend on the number of units/mls required and the product used.
Clients may require less or more units to treat the selected area. If the client requires more than the maximum number of units to treat selected area additional payment will be required. No refunds or reduction in price will be allowed if a client purchases a package but does not, or cannot safely, use all the product in one appointment.
The number of units administered is at the discretion of the prescribing doctor or nurse.
Possible areas for treatment include frown lines, crows feet, forehead lines, lips, marionette lines and nasolabial folds.
Cancellation Policy @ Facetime Aesthetics
At Facetime Aesthetics it is required that 48hrs notice is given to cancel or reschedule all appointments. Appointment slots are in high demand and if sufficient notice is not given a further appointment will not be issued.
